Habitat Module

Altogether comprised of a three-level “hard” lower section containing mechanical equipment, connecting tunnels, hatches and windows, the deployable “soft” upper three- level section greatly expands internal space for more passive functions that don’t require rigid utility systems and structural framing.

The lowest 8-meter diameter hard section level contains an extensively closed-loop environmental control life support system incorporating waste management and atmospheric replenishment. Stored water at this level also provides shielding for a radiation storm shelter deployed when needed during relatively rare and temporary solar flare emergencies.
